“Discover the living”_February 6 and 7, 2015 at Le Cube

As part of “Science book” on February 6 and 7, 2015, Décalab, in association with Le Cube, is organizing a two days event about the theme “Discover the living.”
Ancient questions such as immortality, are resurfacing in this early 21st century, and intersecting with more recent questions that are changing them: is the living programmable? how to set the time of life? and when the living has been redefined, how to define death, non-living? Does death really exist?
These are the questions we will try to deal with together at round tables, performance and workshops with the artists Catherine Nyeki Robertina Sebjanic.

Friday, February 6 (free admission)

17h-19h. Roundtable with Manuela de Barros, philosopher, the artists Marion Laval-Jeantet and Catherine Nyeki, and Catherine Dargemont, biologist.
8:30 p.m. “Aurelia 1 + Hz” performance of the Slovenian artist Robertina Sebjanic with jellyfishes

Saturday, February 7, workshops (registration, limited seating) from 14:00 to 18:00
